Bio
Mark Reddish made 10 appearances for the Hurricanes in the 2011 season, continuing his rise as a hard working, no-nonsense player at home at lock or on the side of the scrum at blindside flanker. He made his run-on debut at flanker in the first match of the season, was injured for five matches mid-campaign and then appeared in the match-day 22 every week over the second half of the season.
Reddish had previously proved himself as one of the Vodafone Wellington Lions’ leading lights through his high workrate and broad skills as a former openside flanker.
Out of the Oriental-Rongotai club in Wellington, alongside established All Black Ma’a Nonu and up and comer Julian Savea, Reddish has been a steady performer at club, age grade and Development and latterly ITM Cup level for several seasons.
He first played for the Wellington Lions in 2009 in a Ranfurly Shield defence match against Wairarapa-Bush in Masterton, scoring a try in a Wellington record 90-19 win. He started his first NPC match a few weeks later in a 16-15 Ranfurly Shield defence against Auckland, making 12 appearances for the Lions in all in his rookie season for the Lions.
